Holiday Decorating – Last Minute Decorating Tips

I have put together some holiday decorating ideas to last well into the New Year and some last-minute touches before your upcoming holiday parties.

  1. Textural & Fur Pillows and Throws

Layer your sofas and chairs with textural pillows and throws. Adding fur to a room gives so much warmth and depth and creates the ultimate cozy feeling.

I love what designer Orsi Panos did with her fresh greens in a large vase, below.

  1. Window Wreaths & Greens

Add that last-minute wreath (preferably real/ fresh) in a few of your windows or on your front door. Layer greens on your mantle, dining table or in a vase. And be sure to add some fresh eucalyptus somewhere in your arrangements. They last so long and the smell is invigorating, earthy and fresh.

  1. Essential Oil Infused Candles

Candles give the ultimate hygge experience. I have a few ready for Christmas morning and of course they are essential for dinner parties. Keep in mind finding a fragrance-free scent without parabens or phthalates. Fragrance/ perfumes can affect several people and also not a healthy option to breath in. Stick to brands that contain essential oils only. I also love to layer candles with diffusers throughout the house to give that fresh, from the earth, and healthy aroma. Bathrooms are good for diffusers and a safe option where pets and young children are present.

A few of my favourite diffuser blends include:

Snowy Muskoka- Pine. Eucalyptus. Bergamot.

&

Christmas Morning – Orange. Clove. Cinnamon. Cardamom
